FAQ

Can I use multiple light brands at the same time? 🔗

Yes! iLightShow supports mixing multiple brands. You can use Philips Hue, LIFX, and Nanoleaf lights together in the same light show.

I want to use iLightShow for a DJ set, but I want to use a different music service not supported by iLightShow. 🔗

iLightShow can use the microphone (on iOS) to sync the lights to the music playing around you. You can connect the audio output of the source to the microphone input of your device.

A more professional solution is planned for the future, which will allow you to sync the lights to the music from any source. Contact the developer if you’re interested in this feature.

I want to use DMX lights with iLightShow. 🔗

iLightShow doesn’t support DMX lights yet, but it is planned for the future. Contact the developer if you’re interested in this feature. The goal is to use Art-Net or sACN to sync the lights to the DMX lights.

I want to use iLightShow on macOS or Windows. 🔗

The macOS version has been discontinued, only the iOS/Android version is supported for now.

I have already purchased the app and want to transfer my purchase to a new phone 🔗

Purchases are managed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, so purchases are automatically transferred to the new device if you use the same Apple ID or Google Account.

Please note that purchases are not transferable between different accounts or platforms (iOS/Android). You will need to purchase the app again on the new device if you want to use it on a different account or platform.

I have already purchased the app but I’m asked to purchase it again 🔗

There has been multiple upgrades to the app since the initial purchase, so you will need to purchase the app again to get the latest features and improvements. However, you won’t lose any features that you have already paid for.

Some lights are not responding as expected, only some are getting fast effects 🔗

You might have enabled an option called “Ambient mode” for some lights. This option will disable fast effects for the light and only allow smooth effects. If you want to use fast effects for all lights, you need to disable the ambient mode for all lights.

The app stops syncing while in the background 🔗

iOS 🔗

iLightShow has a “background mode” option available in the app settings. If this option is enabled, the app will continue to sync the lights to the music even when the app is in the background. Please note that the microphone feature is required for this to work.

Android 🔗

Please look at this link for more information about background mode on Android: https://dontkillmyapp.com/

The pairing process is not working as expected for some lights, even pushing the pairing button doesn’t work 🔗

For iOS, please make sure that the “Local Network Access” option is enabled for the app in the iOS settings, otherwise the app won’t be able to pair with the lights.
