Sync iLightShow to the Microphone input
iLightShow can sync the lights to the music playing around you. To do this, select “Microphone” from the list of music services.
iLightShow’s use of the microphone for music detection goes beyond basic volume sensing—it intelligently analyzes audio to trigger effects only when music is identified. To ensure you get the best light show, make sure the microphone is placed close to the music source.
Input Jack
iLightShow can also sync the lights to the music playing from an external source by connecting the audio output of the source to the microphone input of your device.
For example, you can connect the output of a DJ mixer, a guitar, or a keyboard to the microphone input of your device.
To do this, you will need:
- A 3.5mm audio cable
- A TRS to TRRS adapter
- A jack to lightning adapter
This has also been tested with an iRig adapter instead of the TRS to TRRS adapter + jack to lightning adapter.
